Most fetal iron is obtained through the placental blood flow. So pregnancy requires considerable amounts of iron. Therefore supplements are always recommended. Signs of depletion Anemia, pale skin, fatique, constipation, lusterless and brittle nails, difficulty in breathing. Suggested intake Men - unless anemia exists, a multivitamin should cover all needs.
